4 Foods You Think Are Healthy but Really Are Not

Watching what you eat is a big part of staying in shape and healthy. You hear that you need to eat this food or that, but are never actually really sure what is best for you. The best way to figure out what you should be eating is to talk to a healthcare professional such as  a weight loss specialist at Red Mountain Weight Loss . They are really the best people to figure out what you should really be eating. If you cannot meet with them though, take a look at the list below to see what supposedly healthy foods are actually not good for you.

Food Facts

There are many foods that we are told are healthy, but in all reality are not. Learning to distinguish the good from the bad means that you need to read the labels on foods. Eventually you will be able to automatically tell the good from the bad.

Granola
- Granola, and granola bars are often said to be good foods to eat as a snack during the day. However, many types of granola is not good for you. There is a lot of sugar added to granola to get that sweet flavor you are looking for. Reading the ingredients on your granola is really a good idea.

Diet Soda - Any type of soda is not good for you whether it is diet or not. Not only odes soda decreases your water intake, it also has a lot of sugar. Water is a much better choice whenever you are thirsty.

Trail Mix - This is another common snack for after workouts and during. While the version with nuts and dark chocolate is good for you in moderation, most of the ones available in stores are not. Store bought trail mix is filled with sugar, fats and carbs.

Frozen Yogurt - Frozen yogurt is good for you, but not when you add toppings. The toppings make the yogurt equal to ice cream in sugar and fat. So just stick with simple frozen yogurt if you want a treat.
